FROM URBAN DICTIONARY:
1. YTPMV
See YouTube Poop.
A YTPMV is a music video featuring various clips from tv shows, movies, commercials, etc. repeated or sped up/slowed down to fit to a beat, usually techno.
eg:
YTPMV: Angelos Has QuickTime Pro in His Bag This Week
YTPMV: Kung Fu Cutman!
YTPMV: [Ronald feat. Burger & Fries] singing: Super Mario Bros. Theme.
This is the first time I have ever heared about these. In a way they're fantastic... thats my opinion for now.

Im having another look at these, ive taken two away because they were just awful but have left these up as there is still something about them that im in favour of.
The best way a can analyze it is probably the simillarities these videos have to the acid house sampling days of the 90s. Not my area of speciality but Im aware of the effect that its had on the music we listen to today. At the time (i'd imagine) it probably mirrored the style of these videos. Its almost impossible to see the point and they are a little bit too intense to watch for longer than 2 mins, but i love the idea that people are using whatever tools they have to abuse video and music to create something new. It seems to completely contradict the current 'apple' design aesthetic of keep it simple and I love the harshness of the video in compasison to the uber clean and soft (and almost boring now) canon & dslr videos.
In the most anal way to give an oppinion on things like this, its one of those 'videos for the people', but the best thing its it doesnt seem aware of this and they obviously don't give a s**t about what us outsiders think.
